What we do

Providing the very best solutions in automated access

At Arrow, we stay true to our promise of quality and reliability, manufacturing top-of-the-line roller shutter doors and PVC traffic/crash doors at our UK bases. We say it like it is: our doors are robust, reliable, and built to last.

What our customers say

Mark and Lee were fantastic in every aspect. They were punctual, polite and professional. They respected the fact we are a Pharma company and followed our processes to the letter. A real credit to your company and will definitely use and recommend in the future.

Paddy Ford
Facilities and Fleet Manager, Pharmaxo

We had all of our workshop doors replaced last year and I was very happy with how the process went. From start to finish it was a very smooth exercise and the team that fitted the doors were very professional, but also, extremely friendly. I really want to highlight that our workshop that week was extremely busy and we needed to remain operational. The teamwork between Arrow and my engineers was excellent and caused minimal disruption to a very busy part of our business.

Aftersales manager for Steven Eagell Toyota Letchworth

Following the installation of a DualAir® door, NE Plastics observed there had been a reduction in both road and wind noise, and that the factory was also warmer. This resulted in better working conditions and a reduction in their energy bills.

Arrow met our delivery and customer service expectations from day one. We chose them for three reasons: outstanding Health & Safety adherence, skilled engineers, and knowledge transfer to our team.

Sarah has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She has picked everything up that we need immediately and has fielded a number of out of hours calls for me and resolved them. I really can’t speak highly enough of her.

Declan Place
Account Manager, Mace Operate

I have worked with Arrow for a few years and have always had quick, reliable service. I've never had any issues and when I encountered a problem or wanted to know some information, Arrow always responded quickly and never hesitated to help. Arrow are always happy to come to site to assist with any issues you have or speak with you about any upcoming projects.

Jack Taylor

Working alongside a fully operational distribution centre handling food warehousing and 600+ daily vehicle movements, Arrow flawlessly implemented new barriers, traffic lights and safety equipment without a moment of operational time being lost.

What do all the different IP Ratings mean?

Typically speaking, an IP rating looks like the above graphic. The IP stands for “Ingress Protection” and this remains as the constant throughout the ratings. It’s the numbers that show the differentiation. Below is a detailed explanation of what each digit refers to when it comes to choosing the correct IP rating for your needs.

(1) First Digit (Protection against solids):
This digit ranges from 0 to 6 and indicates the level of protection against solid objects like dust and debris.

0: No protection against contact and ingress of objects.

1: Protection against objects larger than 50 mm, such as a hand.

2: Protection against objects larger than 12.5 mm, such as a finger.

3: Protection against objects larger than 2.5 mm, such as tools or thick wires.

4: Protection against objects larger than 1 mm, such as most wires and screws.

5: Dust-protected (limited ingress of dust allowed, but not enough to harm the device).

6: Dust-tight (no ingress of dust).

(2) Second Digit (Protection against liquids):

This digit ranges from 0 to 9 and indicates the level of protection against liquids, such as water.

0: No protection.

1: Protection against vertically falling drops of water (condensation).

2: Protection against vertically falling drops of water when tilted up to 15°.

3: Protection against water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60° from the vertical.

4: Protection against water splashing from any direction.

5: Protection against water jets projected by a nozzle (6.3mm) from any direction.

6: Protection against powerful water jets (12.5mm) from any direction.

7: Protection against immersion in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.

8: Protection against continuous immersion in water beyond 1 meter (specific conditions are provided by the manufacturer).

9: Protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.

Examples:

  • IP67: This means the device is completely dust-tight (6) and can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes (7).
  • IP54: This means the device is protected against dust to a degree that won’t interfere with operation (5) and against water splashes from any direction (4).
