Arbour Forest. High Speed Doors

This project came with a hefty £12m value attached and with the main priority of delivering one of the most advanced saw mill planing lines in the UK, the pressure was on from everyone involved to deliver.

Our involvement came after an intensive tender process. We were delighted to be awarded the contract on what would be a fantastic new build project, supporting the contractor with our range of industrial doors.

Our high speed doors were the main element of this project, a product that was specifically requested due to the nature of their use. This warehouse would become an incredibly busy operation, with a high level of foot traffic and rolling machinery constantly being present. With a constant flow from the interior of the warehouse to the yard, the need to have energy efficiency and speed at the forefront of specification was crucial.

We fitted 2 high speed fold doors that are heavy duty and designed for high traffic areas. Thanks to the speed of these doors, the warehouse is able to retain much more heat, helping keep the energy bills down. With their automatic opening/closing operation, then unlike manually operated doors which rely on human intervention, the time the door is left open, is dramatically reduced.

These doors came complete with an optical light curtain to comply to EN12445. The lifting belts are equipped with steel tubes to increase wind resistance. The inclusion of activation via radar, induction loop or radio remote can also be added to this range.

To complete the Arrow side of the installation, we also added sectional doors where the brief was to cater for the more aesthetic need of this project. With glazed sections, this permitted extra light to enter the warehouse as well as providing excellent thermal insulation with sound absorbing qualities.

Finally the addition of a range of steel doors for extra security were added to the project installation.

Our teams worked in conjunction with the principal contractor to adhere to their strict health and safety guidelines as well as a very tight schedule. The onus was on us to work around the main construction to be ready for a first time install, once the apertures were ready for offering up our products. We were very proud to deliver our side of the install within 3 weeks, delivering a high quality product range and an excellent install service.
