Within the project brief, Arrow Industrial’s range of roller shutters and steel doors were specified by the client to provide best-in-class performance, protection and aesthetics in keeping with the rest of the building.

Extensive design work started at tender stage and continued to evolve during award status right through to the completion of a professional install.

Arrow Industrial developed a bespoke solution for the project, ensuring the 55 industrial doors consisting of; fire shutters, roller shutter and steel doors, met the regulatory requirements of the development.

Despite the tight budgets set by the client, each door and shutter was scrutinised to ensure its operating method was the right fit for daily use whilst also delivering a high level of aesthetic appearance.

Fire Shutters were required on several concession counters throughout the ground to limit the spread of fire in the event of an emergency as well as provide security to each counter. The brief also specified that the shutters were not visible when in an open position.

The Arrow team provided expert advice to the client to ensure the openings complied with fire regulations whilst meeting the clients’ aesthetic requirements.

Arrow Industrial’s range of fire shutters are tested to harmonised standards BS EN 16034:2014 & BS EN 13241-1:2003 and can provide up to four hours protection.

Each fire shutter was connected to the fire alarm for automatic closing and opening on reset. To provide an extra layer of safety, Audio Warning Devices were also supplied, with timer delay facilities and two-stage closing which gave an additional alerting method in case of an emergency. This device also included a battery back-up unit to provide a maintained supply which would activate the shutter in case of a power outage.

A further 18 roller shutters were required to secure the new bar facilities, concourse areas, storerooms and the club merchandise shop.

The structures on the bar areas provided little space for the Arrow team to install the shutter head sections / guides and so adjustments had to be made to our normal setup.

Through our experienced design team, extensive product range and product testing, we were able to provide a perfect solution that not only met but exceeded the standards that the client expected. Electric operation for ease of use, aesthetics and attention to detail with shutter guides hidden from view.

Overall, a superb finish to complement the quality that our client dictated throughout this project.
